As any parent knows, children bring a certain x-factor, an element of unpredictability, into our lives. That’s okay, we’re here for it! We work with each family to come up with a totally personalized treatment plan. We are always looking to balance treatment needs with children’s personalities, limitations, strengths, and so much more. There is no “one size fits all” approach to dental care at our office! We work with patients and their families to create treatment plans with a Plan A, Plan B, and even a Plan C. We’re in this together, and we’ll find a way to take care of your kiddo’s teeth and maintain their love for visiting the dentist.​

The most important aspect of our relationships with our patients and their families is trust. We take great care to make sure children (and their grownups) feel safe, relaxed, and empowered at Smile Out Loud. We always approach your child’s treatment within this container. We will take the time to educate our families on our recommendations, making sure to answer any questions they may have. We want to get to know you and your priorities, and ensure we’re always on the same page.​

Finally, one thing we would never compromise is quality of care. The backbone of all our treatment and recommendations is an evidence-based, science-backed, high quality of care. Dr. Dikansky has trained under some of the most distinguished doctors in her field, and continues to educate herself on the newest materials and techniques available. She maintains a thorough and detail-oriented practice, and does not cut corners. She is constantly keeping up with what sets the current standard of excellence.

Naturally, the cornerstone of pediatric dental care is the checkup visit, and for many patients, that’s all we ever do! That’s the goal, after all. Keep the teeth clean and healthy so no other treatments are needed. But, as parents know all too well, things happen!

-Cleanings and exams, including fluoride varnish

-X-rays, as needed (our philosophy is to minimize radiation as much as possible)          

-Silver diamine fluoride, or SDF, a no-drill, pain-free cavity treatment         

-Regenerative and biocompatible white, or tooth colored, fillings         

-Both no-drill and conventional crowns, silver or white colored         

-Root canal / pulpotomy treatment         

-Emergency treatments, including trauma management         

-Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for any treatment         

-General anesthesia and sedation dentistry
